Rebecca Schneider

Rebecca A. Schneider is the Special Projects Officer for the Blavatnik School of Government. As such, she coordinates and executes a variety of different projects amongst many of the School’s different academic, administrative, and events programs.
Prior to joining BSG, Rebecca served as the Chief of Staff at the McCain Institute for International Leadership; a leading non-partisan think tank based in Washington, DC. Rebecca helped build the Institute from its inception, developing programmatic activity, alongside heading operations and human resources.
In 2012, she coordinated the Project for a United and Strong America – a national security strategy made up of leading academics and former US government officials from four previous presidential administrations. She also has worked in the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service as an International Trade Assistant, in Ireland as a research assistant at the Institute for International and European Affairs, and has experience working in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressman Jim McDermott.
Rebecca has received numerous accolades for her work in international affairs. Most recently, the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy and the Diplomatic Courier named her one of the “Top 99 Under 33 Most Influential Foreign Policy Professionals.” In addition, in 2010 the USDA presented her an award for reviewing and redrafting commentary on a EU-US trade policy.
Rebecca holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in European Politics and Society from the University of Oxford. She also holds a double Bachelor’s degree “With Distinction” in Foreign Affairs and English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia. She has studied, lived, and worked in the European Union and Canada, as well has volunteered in Sub-Saharan Africa.
