Rebecca is an entertainment media professional based in Seoul, South Korea. With 15 years' experience in the entertainment content space, she consults for companies keen to establish partnerships or a presence in the Asian market through her company, Soundboard Asia. She is also a writer and correspondent for Variety, specializing in Korean TV, film and music.
Ardently seeking to connect the dots and express compelling ideas Rebecca recognizes the importance of documenting the progress of Asia's entertainment industry as it experiences dynamic growth. Rebecca also wants to bridge the gap between professionals in the TV, film, music and tech business with evident overlaps in today's digital era.
Rebecca brought Asian TV series from Korea, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan to premiere at the Series Mania Festival in Lille, France. She was also Content Partnerships Director for Dailymotion in North Asia and North America. She was based in both Singapore and New York throughout her 3 years with Dailymotion, negotiating deals with various media and music companies, including Universal Music, JYP, SM and YG Entertainment.
As Director, Content Marketing at Viki. she managed an international team of nine with a "get it done" attitude, passion and resourcefulness. A notable project was the launch of Viki Music, working alongside the CEO on music content acquisition partnerships and grew the portfolio from major music label international and local. Music videos and related clips were translated to more than 25 languages. Rebecca also organized the red carpet event at LA's KCON 2014 with Korean music artist, Eric Nam as the event host.
Currently shuffling between Seoul and Singapore, Rebecca continues to create noteworthy Asian entertainment case studies, while globetrotting. Other than English, Mandarin Chinese and Korean, Rebecca also has basic knowledge of French, Japanese, Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia.
