Rebecca Silver

Brooklyn, NY

I'm a consultant and educator on sustainable design and product development currently working with the Natural Resources Defense Council on their Clean by Design initiative to reduce the environmental impacts stemming from fashion industry. As an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in their Products of Design program, I teach a masters-level course in Life Cycle Assessment to aspiring designers & design strategists. Previously, I managed innovation challenges for Luminary Labs, developed sustainability guidelines and projects for Adidas's design department, and engaged on sustainability supply-chain initiatives as an intern with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) in their corporate partnership with Walmart.

I'm a recovering product designer who uses my cozy Brooklyn apartment to express my eclectic design personality by collecting objects of intrigue from my global travels. I find zen in making stews and chopping vegetables, drinking German beer, and exploring as many hiking paths accessible through NYC public transit as possible.
