Art was always an outlet for my escape. Born and raised in Los Angeles California, I always saw the world through a different perspective. Always having several sketch books filled with things inspired from everyday life to simple doodles infused with color, my artistic side was used to constantly express myself. At the age of seventeen, I became a young mother, with no direction in life and no goals of my own. Other than being a full time mom, I had no plans for my life, and I began to feel restless with myself. I knew I was not meant to live the typical stay-at-home mother and wife life. That was not how I wanted to be known.

In my teen years, experimenting with hair color and playing with make-up was where I began to find my sense of self-expression again. I had found a new outlet. It was in 2013 when I decided to take on the cosmetology program at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. It was the first of many life changing decisions made. In 2015, while in attendance at La Trade Tech, I had the opportunity to compete at the annual Spectrum International Beauty Expo and won first place for the nail portion in the celebrity look-alike contest. This was a definite ice breaker for me. It gave me the confidence boost I never knew I needed. I then volunteered to be a makeup artist for LA Focus’ First Ladies High Tea presentation and fashion show. This allowed me to get a glimpse of the backstage world in the beauty industry.

After building clientele from beauty school, and working on projects such as photo shoots and hair shows, styling people became easier to do and I became more comfortable. I now found a passion in the beauty industry, for the self-gratitude I felt each and every time a client smiled with reassurance of their new look, confirmed so.
