Rebecca Ndawana
Student in Boston, Massachusetts
An alumna of Suffolk University in Boston, Rebecca is a public relations graduate with huge aspirations. Having attended college half way across the world from her hometown of Harare, Zimbabwe, Rebecca dreams of putting her international perspective to use as a renowned expert in fashion communication. In addition, Rebecca is committed to helping to change the face of fashion, proving that plus-size women have a powerful perspective to offer the fashion industry.
Having grown up all over the world (Cuba, Japan, Zimbabwe, DRC, Congo, Senegal, France and now Boston), she believes in making the most of whatever city she is in, never hesitating to say, "My parents didn't send me all the way over here to do nothing!"
She was very involved on campus during her time at Suffolk University, and as the president of the Caribbean Student Network she put together their annual fashion show 3 years in a row. She also managed to snag several internships in the Public Relations, Marketing and Event Planning field in addition to interning with local Boston fashion designers and fashion companies such as Karmaloop and Rue La La.
She plans on tackling one of the coasts to work in the fashion industry before moving to Europe to get a Masters in Fashion Communications. She enjoys watching movies, listening to music and can often be found curled up on her favorite couch reading fashion blogs or updating her own (Forbidden Vanity).
Her motto in life? Life is a red carpet. And a quotation she lives by? "Do you, boo boo! Do you!"
