Rebecca Wilson Macsovits

Work Currently, I have the great pleasure of working for our family business, Kemmons Wilson Companies. I oversee branding for KWC and help our portfolio companies think through branding and culture too. Prior to joining the family business, I was employee number five of a start-up bank which provided me with the most rewarding work experience. In an entrepreneurial environment everyone wears several hats; that's what makes it fun. I began my role running marketing, human resources and overseeing the build-out of our new office. My main focus was managing marketing for the holding company and the local offices. I ended my tenure, as the Director of Workplace Design and Resources. And after ten years with the bank, I had the good fortune of seeing us grow to 180 associates with twelve offices in four states.

My Work Style I love to have fun at work and am always looking for people with a sense of humor. I thrive on the energy brought about through brainstorming challenges and innovating ways to accomplish a task more efficiently. I like playing devil's advocate to make sure we're thinking through all the possible solutions. Going with the easiest isn't always the best answer. I find being respectfully honest and straightforward provides a much better working environment; everyone on the team knows where you stand on an issue. I love to learn and seek out new people, information and challenges to keep me invigorated.

Personally speaking Being a mom to three kids, ten and under, keeps me busy. My first patent was issued to me a few years ago and I'm working on a prototype as we speak. I published my first children's book and now my kids are begging me to write more. To keep me sane, I've run a few marathons and now I'm boxing. Look forward to seeing what life brings me next.
