In August 2010, she opened the library at the newest Blue Valley high school, Blue Valley Southwest. Serving on the building leadership team, Becca collaborated with administrators and lead teachers to develop a library that challenges the typical vision of a school library. Students were encouraged to explore, create and demonstrate their learning in new ways.
Beginning in August 2011, Becca started a new venture as an Educational Technology Specialist for the Blue Valley School District. She designed and maintained a technology integration resource site for teachers in the Blue Valley School District. Becca is able to assist teachers and library media specialists in effectively integrating technology tools. She introduced Tinker Tubs to provide opportunities for teachers in the district to utilize robots and coding resources with students.
In 2017, Becca transitioned back home to Blue Valley West High School as the library department chair. Working with over 1,700 students and over 100 faculty, Becca continues to find ways to positively impact student learning with literacy initiatives, technology integration, and building rapport with students and staff.
