Rebecca Robinson

I am a Consultant in Communications/Public Relations for the past 15 years where I have worked for both private and public sector entities, individuals and institutions.

I am currently an adjunct lecturer in the Communications Department, at the Faculty of Humanities & Education, University of the West Indies, St Augustine, and also a part-time member of the academic staff the the media professionals center at the School of Business & Computer Science in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Concurrent with my involvement in academia I have held the positions of Communication Specialist, Communications Manager, Group Public Relations Executive and Information and Media Advisor - in the financial services sector, with non-profit organizations, government ministries and in manufacturing industries.

My career philosophy is based on my being a big-picture designer, promoter of corporate social responsibility and communication technician. I therefore specialize in the design and execution of strategic outreach campaigns, measurement of communication outcomes and tactical training for field work in communications. Inevitably I am also a keen administrator and manager of resources.

These skills sets are based on a solid education that consists of a Master of Fine Arts in Film & Television Production from Ohio University (2000) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica (1995). I won the prestigious US Fulbright Scholarship in 1997.

I am the mother of two children, ages ten and one. I enjoy mentoring and guiding young people especially at the start of their professional lives, I am a committed and competitive (lawn) tennis player and practitioner of the Buddhist faith.
