Rebecca Soffer
Writer, Editor, and Public Speaker in New York, NY
I'm a writer and producer who works across media. Currently, I'm Founder and Executive Editor of Modern Loss, which publishes original content, resources and community to people in Gen X and Gen Y who have lost a loved one. Beginners welcome.
I also do freelance writing, producing and radio hosting, contributing pieces to Tablet's National Magazine Award-winning podcast, Vox Tablet.
I'm a lucky former field producer for “The Colbert Report,” where I frequently accompanied Stephen on his quest to get to know all 435 U.S. Representatives in pieces like this one, attended the Emmy Awards during our first year on air, and was on the staff that won the 2007 Peabody Award. Until recently, I served as national network coordinator for Reboot, an international network of Jewish cultural creatives.
I'm a proud alumna of Emory University, where I majored in International Politics and Spanish, and of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, from which I graduated with highest honors.
Oh, and I'm fluent in Spanish...try me!
