Rebecca Saar is currently an MBA candidate for 2014 at Hult International Business School.

Rebecca Saar was born in Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany, where she spent her childhood. At the age of 11 she moved with her family to southern California and continued her education there. She went to college at the University of California, San Diego where she majored in International Studies: Political Science. She also completed a minor in Spanish literature and studied German literature.

After college, she did AmeriCorps VISTA working for financial self-help center SparkPoint Marin. She engaged in capacity building and program development projects. She focused on program outreach through presentations, email marketing and social media, and strategic targeting. She also recruited, placed, and coordinated volunteers for the county’s VITA tax program.

After that she joined The Bay Citizen as the Business Marketing Coordinator. Bay Citizen merged with The Center for Investigative Reporting in 2012. She continued with CIR to become the Marketing Manager.

Her publications include the “Broadcasting and Telecommunications Market Report” and the “Bio-Energy Market Report”, which she wrote for the U.S. Commercial Service Germany. The U.S. Commercial Service is a subsection of the Department of Commerce focusing on international trade. Rebecca spent a summer at the organization doing market research and reporting.

She has received awards for her leadership and debate skills at various Model United Nations (MUN) conferences around the world. In college Rebecca headed, organized, and planned two 200 people MUN conferences and lead her team of 14 college students to their first east-coast conference at Harvard University.
