"The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life."
My natural impulse as an artist is to observe and reproduce the world around me with my hands. I can't help but pull inspiration from my past as well, places I've been, my family, and people I've met in an attempt to hold on to these things. The means in which I draw or paint from my past is primarily through the use of photographs that I've taken, my own sketches and from direct observation. To create an artwork from these photos, I often collect many different photos and take elements from them and put them together to make a completely new image.
