Hello! My name is Rebekah Tereska and I am a 4th year Fashion Merchandising student at UGA. I was born and raised in Virginia with three older brothers and two adorable pups.

I originally came to UGA to study Public Relations but quickly changed my major to fashion merchandising because at the time, I wanted to work in the retail industry upon graduating.

While I still very much love my major, I would love to pursue something that would allow me to help others more. I really love to volunteer and make a difference in the community!

In my free time, I like to watch movies, dress my dog in silly clothes, volunteer in my local community and rant about politics.

After college, I plan to move back to Virginia to pursue a career in non profit work. More specifically, I want to work in Washington D.C. for an organization that raises awareness for climate change, women's rights or for the LGBT community.

Semester Overview:

We learned a lot this semester on the importance of communication in business.

Our COL group did a project on the Athens based organization Books for Keeps and created a plan to help raise awareness for "summer slide" in the Atlanta area. This was helpful in getting to know my fellow peers.

We then did an assignment where we wrote a resume and cover letter for a job position. I chose to do a solicited job application. It was very helpful because I know this will be information I need for after college. It helped to beef up my resume!

Lastly, we did a project on a country of our choice. We presented it to the class and included basics of the country like language and religion as well as common business practices in the country. I chose Sweden. I loved this project because it opened my eyes to how other countries practice business.

Overall, this semester has been very eye opening and fun! I know that what I've learned in this class will help me in all of my future endeavors.
