Rebel Rinks
Writer and Blogger in India
Hello guys, my name is Rebel Rinks. I am a blogger, and my blogging journey started in 2017 when I was a complete beginner with no idea about blogging. I just shared whatever came to my mind on my site. My first blog was on Blogspot.com, Google's official blogging platform. However, today, popular alternatives like WordPress have emerged.
My first blog didn’t perform well, so I didn’t focus much on blogging. Later, I started watching free blogging tutorials on YouTube. People recommended that I create a blog based on my expertise, so I decided to work in the web series and entertainment niche, where I had knowledge. Initially, I got a good response, but the entertainment niche had low CPC, so I wasn’t earning much.
One day, someone told me not to blog just for money, but to share knowledge with others. This would help both me and others grow. Motivated by this advice, I started a new blog with a custom domain and learned WordPress. I didn’t have money for domain and hosting, so I worked offline for 1-2 months to save money and then started blogging. My blog focused on movies and web series entertainment, and I shared reviews. Initially, there was no response, but gradually my blog gained traction, and I started getting 10k+ daily visitors.
Despite the growing traffic, I wasn’t earning. Then, due to health issues, I had to sell my 5-year-old hard-earned blog for just $500, and I felt completely demotivated. After a year, I tried to return to blogging, but by then, things had changed a lot. Google launched several updates that caused my site to stop ranking. I was frustrated, but I took time to read Google forums, learned SEO, and understood its algorithms.
I made blogging my hobby and continued improving. A friend suggested I try content writing as well, as many bloggers need content writers. I found a content writing course on YouTube, bought it, and learned the skills. I started offering content writing services on Fiverr and Upwork, which gave me regular clients.
Today, I share my knowledge on many websites and continue working on blogging. I am also exploring new niches. I have many blogging websites, but due to privacy reasons, I can’t share their links. I manage everything myself—content writing, SEO, and more. So, this was my blogging journey, and I kindly request your support.
