Robert Eberhart

I lead the Stanford Project on Japanese Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Business in Stanford University. I am slo a PhD student in the department of Management Science and Engineering. My research focuses on institutions and growth companies with special emphasis on Japan and the role of Japanese institutions in fostering entrepreneurship. My papers include topics such as corporate governance, entrepreneurship in Japan, and institutional ideas of innovation. I am on the board of advisers to Japan's Global Entrepreneurship Week, and an adviser to Japan's Board of Director's Training Institute. I am also an academic adviser to the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan's Task Force on New Growth Strategies. I lecture in classes on Japanese business and entrepreneurship at Stanford University and at Berkeley. Before to coming to Stanford, I was a partner at Actium Ventures LLC, a private investment firm, and the founding CEO of WineInStyle KK, a successful Japanese start-up.
