Mark Adams is the president of California Receivership Group (CRG), a company he founded to provide practical solutions for distressed properties. For over 25 years, he has worked with both public and private entities to tackle some of the most complex property issues in California, Tennessee, and Texas. Under his leadership, CRG has completed 415 projects, handling $62.5 million in rehab loans that have been fully repaid. The financial impact of these projects has also contributed to the creation of approximately 1,500 jobs over the years, supporting local economies and communities.

Adams’ expertise spans various property types, from homes and apartments to commercial buildings and hotels. CRG has taken on projects involving hoarding, illegal cannabis grow operations, unlicensed dispensaries, fire-damaged buildings, and even properties that pose environmental hazards. His approach to receivership is straightforward yet effective: he uses the legal framework to address properties' physical and financial issues and their impact on surrounding neighborhoods. He has made a lasting difference in communities previously burdened by unsafe or abandoned structures by restoring these properties to safe, functional spaces.

Expanding his impact beyond California, Adams founded subsidiaries in both Texas and Tennessee. Through Texas Receivership Group (TxRG), he has already secured two appointments in Dallas, while Tennessee Receivership Group (TRG) recently completed its 36th property in Memphis. This national growth is a testament to his proven success and dedication to helping communities across the United States solve their property problems.

In addition to managing CRG, Adams has contributed significantly to the receivership field through his involvement in several professional organizations. As a co-founder of the Vacant Property Receivership Consortium (VPRC), he has worked to advance policies that support receivership as an effective tool for revitalizing vacant or distressed properties. He has also spoken at numerous conferences, including the Receivership Roundtable in Memphis and the upcoming Center for Community Progress National Land Bank Network Summit in Detroit, where he will continue to share his knowledge and expertise with others in the field.
