- RECIPROCITY is about People, Places & Identity.
- It is a 48-hour festival of ideas, taking place in the summer of 2016 (in East London and Detroit)
- RECIPROCITY // Day >> will include talks, documentary film premieres, photography & debate
- RECIPROCITY // Night >> will include street-art, live music DJs & three big parties
- Detroit is our focus because we are excited about grass-roots projects, community-led innovation and boot-strapping entrepreneurship. And its music, art and culture transcends time and place. Detroit leads the way
- We want to connect Detroit and East London - bringing the best of the Motor City to new audiences in London. With a UK focus on Dagenham, famously the home of the Ford Factory in the UK and with multiple links to Detroit across people and place
- Reciprocity is a not-for-profit collective led by senior arts producer Sophie Bradey and Culture Editor Paul Anthony Drury (inspired by our EPIC trip to Detroit in 2013)
- Sophie is a producer at London’s innovative and award-winning Battersea Arts Centre, where she makes shows, festival and projects with arists and audiences in the theatre and out in the community. Paul trained as a journalist worked in newspapers before moving to London to work in the culture industries; across publicity, production & partnerships. He ran the comms for Open City Docs Fest; does international projects for British Council, is a Royal Society for the Arts fellow, is in the Courvoisier Future 500 and is currently working as a Culture Editor for multi award-winning communications company Unity.
