Brigette Iarrusso
Berkeley, California
Brigette Iarrusso is a native New Yorker that moved to the Bay Area 10 years ago. Her background is Italian and Puerto Rican and she enjoys speaking and teaching Spanish. She is an educator and social activist that loves being surrounded by a thriving community of artists and kindred souls. She finds inspiration for her jewelry in her travels throughout Central and South America, Europe, vintage sales, antique shops and flea markets. She is drawn to timeworn pieces with a story, a patina and a unique identity. Everything old is new again.
In an effort to reduce waste, I use recycled and re-used vintage jewelry and found objects for more than 80% of the materials in my designs. I am inspirted by the Victorian era, Steampunk, European vintage designs, art deco and industrial/punk styles. I love brass, bronze, pewter and oxidized silver, mosaic and unique glass beads, Austrian crystals, watches, gears, vintage charms, keys, locks, hardware. Each piece is completely unique.
