Reed Fox

Amherst, MA

My name’s Reed Fox and I help homeless men and women get off the streets. I’m a junior Commonwealth Honors College student at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. At school, I founded the Northampton Exercise Club for the Homeless. We use exercise to increase self-esteem and confidence in homeless individuals. During the summer, I volunteer for Street Soccer USA, a non-profit organization that uses soccer as a tool for social change for the homeless and connects 75% of its players to housing, education, employment or family within a year. This past summer, I led the Street Soccer Philly team to the Fair Play Award at our national cup in NYC.

At school I'm also very involved with the Amherst Regional School District. I’ve interned in the Amherst High School athletic department, managing the budget, transportation and schedules of teams. I also coach the freshman boys soccer team, run a middle school basketball camp and coach JV baseball. This summer, I completed an internship with the Philadelphia Eagles Youth Partnership program that serves over 50,000 underprivileged youth in the Philadelphia region every year.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, playing pick-up sports and laughing at my housemates.
