Reese Basile--Chief Operating Officer/Staff Youth Mentor

Reese T. Basile, once an at-risk foster child and greatful adoptee, is a recent addition to the emergent public health sector after finishing his degree and earning his Public Health Specialization at Bard College located in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.

Most recently, Mr. Basile worked as an Employment Specialist, a Justice and Youth Advocate, and as a Staff Youth Mentor for a prominent non-profit in the Bronx, only leaving his post to initiate the long-held dream of establishing and managing his own non-profit youth services program. In addition, Reese has worked as a NYS Certified Clinical Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomist, and EKG Technician at a prominent Hospital and Trauma Center on Long Island, NY as well as facilitating HIV/AIDS Awareness classes (Basic and Advanced) while enjoying his meaningful work as a State Certified "Site Guide" for the visually impaired in Woodbourne, NY.

A native and current Bronx resident, Mr. Basile is an alumnus who not only successfully completed the Bard College Public Health specialization with accolades, but is a 2018-2019 Bard Public Health Fellow who continues his research, working tirelessly on an evidence-based gardening and cooking skills intervention for at-risk youth.

Having previously worked with the visually impaired, developmentally disabled persons, and many at-risk and court-involved youth, Reese looks at the world with perspective and an appreciation for those less fortunate or who are experiencing hardships. Alongside his clients, Basile is considered nothing less than a “credible messenger,” and a “youth success influencer.” Perseverant during extraordinary personal hardships and losses, now cool in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, Mr. Reese Basile is uniquely positioned to support Haven Youth Empowerment's array of programs and services as it secures its place in the lives and future successes of the city's at-risk youth...
