Regan Head

Lubbock, Texas

Regan Head is a student of the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University and is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Accounting specializing in taxation. He is expected to graduate in May of 2016 while working to finish the CPA Exam. Regan completed a federal tax internship with KPMG this past spring in Dallas, Texas. Regan was also invited to be a member of the Rawls Business Leadership Program. The RBL program strives to develop leaders in business that learn from professional mentors and pass down knowledge to junior students while improving the university.

While studying accounting at Texas Tech, Regan became involved with Ernst & Young's Beam Abroad Case Competition. Tasked with providing a client with advice regarding Cap-and-Trade reporting, Regan worked diligently with four teammates to provide an innovative and sensible solution over the course of one week. Along with this experience, Regan refined teamwork, critical thinking, and time-management skills to adhere to deadlines, remain competitive, and provide the client with an optimal result. Regan also gained introductory knowledge in the dealings of financial securities under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

Regan recently held the position of Vice President of Finance for the Beta Upsilon chapter of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi at Texas Tech. While serving, he has prepared biannual budgets, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to appropriately monitor and communicate the flow of cash and assets to the chapter, national fraternity, and corporate sponsors. Regan worked as a farm labor assistant for over five years. During that time, he acquired practical abilities such as construction, metalworking, machine operation, and other mechanical skills. Regan learned to properly conduct transactions with business owners that lead to further discounts, reimbursements, and possible employment options in the future.

During the fall semesters of 2012 and 2013, Regan was awarded the honor of President's List. He was also awarded the honors of Dean's List for the spring and summer semesters of 2013. An active member of the nationally recognized professional fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, Regan has public speaking experience in various settings and is involved in the community of Lubbock, Texas.
