Paoli Battlefield
Malvern, Pennsylvania
I am 44 acres located in Malvern, Pennsylvania and called the Paoli Battlefield Historic Park because of my proximity to the old Paoli Tavern. What was then farmland and forest was the site of a vicious battle that took place around Midnight on September 20 - 21 1777 that became known as the Paoli Massacre, a part of the 1777 Philadelphia Campaign of the American Revolutionary War.
Fifty-three brave American patriots who died during the battle are buried here, memorialized by the 2nd oldest military monument in the United States. I am registered in the National Register of Historic Places and the people who care for me, preserve my pristene fields, and share my story with the world are working to have me declared a National Historic Landmark.
