Back my campaign

Hello, I’m Romel. I’m a student living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've decided to start a Call To Action Project in support of preserving the youth of today from the mental health dangers that social media can bring. With this, people can donate to help with creating safe spaces for teens and young adults to build skills to keep their self esteem and mental stability safe when online.

There are many teens and young adults around the world who are suffering from the negative effects of social media. Some include the addiction, sadness and lack of self-esteem, the comparing of our own lives with those of others, jealousy, and the false idea that more followers means that you’re more popular or socially connected. These issues effect people all across the globe and this is what we achieve to overcome.

Along with safe spaces I will also be using our funding to push and create courses that can be implemented into school systems so that young students growing up can have the option to learn about these negative effects on social media an how to not be a victim of them. The importance of this cause is immense due to the number of teenagers and young adults who are suffering through depression and other mental health problems due to social media.
