Remy Chukwunyere is an entrepreneur, leadership and business coach with 20+ years of experience working in both government and non-profit sectors.
He is the Executive Director of the Ugwumba Leadership Center, an organization whose mission is to raise a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa.
As the Project Director of the annual idea pitching and grant competition called the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, he has discovered, trained and supported the birth of over 5,000 startups and SMEs in Nigeria since inception in 2018.
He is the Founders Lair's Ecosystem Builder for Nigeria, an opportunity he uses to showcase investment-ready startups in Nigeria to grants and investment opportunities in Asia, Europe, UK, etc.
As a global visibility strategist, he was appointed the Policy and Strategy Advisor at the Rochas Foundation, a charity organization that has awarded scholarships and trained over 30,000 children from less privileged families in Nigeria and Africa.
Between 2014 and 2019, Remy Chukwuwnyere served the Imo State Government of Nigeria as the Director General, Imo State Directorate for Employment and Job Center, where he created a virile startups ecosystem in the state.
Mr. Remy’s early sojourn into the Corporate World started in 1999, while serving as a Youth Corper at the NNPC- Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, Kaduna Area Office. There, he founded the African Youth Development Foundation, which has successfully partnered with some local and international organizations, including the USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives; UK DFID MADE; Imo State Government of Nigeria; etc in a number of capacity building programs for youths, teachers and farmers in Imo State.
Four years after graduating from the University, he was appointed to serve the Imo State Government of Nigeria as the Executive Secretary, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Council, between 2004 and 2007.
He is a graduate of Industrial Biochemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He holds an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, USA and a Masters in Public Governance and Leadership from the University of Abuja Leadership Center.
