Rena Ackerman
A world traveler, Rena Ackerman regularly goes to Israel, sends care packages to soldiers on behalf of A Package from Home, contributes to The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and functioned as Sisterhood President for Young Israel of New Rochelle. When her daughter took classes in London, Rena Ackerman went to England to visit her. However, Paris, France, remains Ackerman’s favorite place. The Scarsdale, New York, resident appreciates Paris’ history, culture, and beauty. She especially prefers the 5th Arrondissement Latin Quarter for its proximity to the Sorbonne, the Musée du Louvre, Notre Dame de Paris, and many other landmarks, along with a myriad of restaurants and bistros. Rena Ackerman enjoys walking down the cobblestone streets of Paris and stopping at museums, particularly the Musée Picasso, which features works from one of her favorite artists, Pablo Picasso. Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Claude Monet are also among her favorite painters. Back home, Rena Ackerman has worked as a pharmacist, with degrees from New York University and the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Long Island University. Formerly affiliated with Shalom Pharmacy, Riverdale Pharmacy, and ACE Pharmacy, Rena Ackerman understands the importance of a pharmacist in answering questions, offering medical guidance, ensuring that patrons get the correct prescriptions, and performing immunizations throughout the year. In addition to enjoying the company of her family and friends, she runs, skis, and reads.
