René Montes de Oca

Born and raised in Mexico City, I’ve been interested in computers since I was ten years old. I love learning new ways of developing software and always trying to keep up with all the new things that are coming out nowadays.

My first job was an internship at Consorcio Red Uno. I was an intern for 7 months, then they hired me and I worked there for four and a half years; time where I consolidated my .NET skills. I was involved in several projects.

My second job was at Grupo Expansión. Here I was managing the team that support the daily operation of brands quien.com, instyle.mx, elle.mx, chilango.com, lifeandstyle.la, cnnmexico.com, www.cnnexpansion.com, obrasweb.mx, manufactura.mx, idconline.com.mx.

I was responsible for the up time, maintenance, improvement, optimization, security, services and relationship with internal clients and providers of the sites among other things. Some of these sites has over 1 million unique users per month.

Currently I am working at Ryder Systems as a Development Lead. I work with a team of developers, QAs, BAs, Devops and Techops managing two applications specialized in logistics for automotive.

Leveraging .NET technologies and Azure we have accomplished CI / CD, and managing everything through Agile methodologies.

I'm improving my knowledge in Kubernetes and containerization which I just fall in love with.
