Renee Davidson

Renee Davidson is a nonprofit professional working in Washington, DC. Renee has vast experience in developing and promoting programs supporting underrepresented communities, and she has written extensively on feminism and issues affecting women and families. Her work has been published by Fem2pt0, Flurt and Feministing's Community, and she has contributed to pieces published in The Huffington Post, The Washington Examiner, and more. Renee also serves as Communications Director of Collective Action for Safe Spaces (CASS), formally HollaBack!DC, a grassroots group aimed at fighting street harassment in Washington, DC.
Renee graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Women's Studies and American Studies and a certificate in LGBT Studies. She served as co-president of the University of Maryland's reproductive rights group, and she co-founded its chapter of Triota, a national Women's Studies Honors Society. She also spent two semesters as a Women's Studies teaching assistant. Her undergraduate senior thesis, titled "'Wedfare': Marriage Promotion Programs and the Neoliberal Exploitation of Welfare," focused on sexual regulation and marriage promotion within federal welfare policy. The thesis was funded by a prestigious University Honors research grant and was named the best research project within the University's Honors program as well as the department of American Studies.
Renee has served as co-leader of WIN's Feminist Conversation Series and is a three-time performer in The Vagina Monologues.
