Renee DiResta

I'm part of the founding team at Haven, a container shipping trade technology startup in San Francisco and Singapore. (We're hiring!) In addition, I invest in hardware and connected device startups as a co-founder of the Internet of Things Syndicate on AngelList, and am the author of the O'Reilly book "The Hardware Startup", a comprehensive guide for hardware entrepreneurs. Previously, I was a Principal at O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures (OATV) and a trader at Jane Street Capital.

On the side, I spend a lot of time working on policy and political activism, often using network analysis and message analysis to uncover trends. I'm fascinated by computational propaganda, and by how social network dissemination patterns influence policy and electoral outcomes.

Hobbies: I'm a maker/crafter and a Blues dancer. I live in San Francisco and Brooklyn. Cat person, NYC > SF, ENTJ, mommy snark connoisseur. Married to and raising delightful little people with the wonderful Justin Hileman.
