Renee Jeffrey

I am a proud wife of a Marine Corps Veteran, who has inspired me to use my education as a Dietitian Nutritionist for the Military. I am a nontraditional senior at University of Illinois at Chicago. With only one year of my undergraduate studies left I am looking for any chance to gain experience in nutrition and leadership. Besides being a devote academic, I am a travel junky-another benefit of joining the military! I have been all over the United States including a wonderful 10-week internship in Nome, Alaska. Thanks to an opportunity to be involved in a music outreach program with the Young Americans, I taught choir and dance for a season in Japan, England, Ireland, and Germany! As any undergraduate in Nutrition Science will tell you there is no "off-time" so in my few seconds between school, work, and wifehood (yes, thats a full-time job in itself), I've been sprinkling a few new activities into my life like volunteering for the local VA hospital, serving as President for the Student Nutrition Association and building my research skills in nutritional epidemiology.
