FAIR WARNING -- I'm wordy.

Ordinary midwestern woman here, living an ordinary midwestern life. I was an Army brat most of my childhood and somehow wound up smack dab in the middle of nowhere. WHY couldn't my Dad have taken a job in Florida, for Pete's sake???

I am super ordinary in comparison to so many of the gorgeous people here. I drive a non-deliberately two-tone Honda Civic. I have a big white dog. I totally dye my hair and airbrush my smile wrinkles off my photos. I have more than a few pounds to lose and I am allergic to exercise.

The most interesting part of me? At 40+ years of age, I am a mother to a 24 year old slacker, a 21 year old perpetual college student, and a you're-gonna-be-jealous-because-he's-so-super-cute 2 year old. I am also 16 months into my second marriage. You do the math...

I have a pretty ordinary job helping people all over our great nation try to preserve and protect their own American dream. The pay sucks but the emotional benefits keep me plugging away. Not many people these days have a job that they believe in. I am very blessed that I do.

My name has changed a few times since the '90s (damn hyphens!) but a few of you may "think" you know me... I used to help run the Frugal Living and Budgeting boards back in the AOL hey days. I also ran a pretty extensive website on personal budgeting way back when. (RIP!) And, I do still maintain a personal blog where I rant on and on about kids, marriage, cooking, my bi-polar ex-husband, and other stuff no one really cares about.

I realize people seem to be getting these pages to promote themselves and get work and make some money. I'm just doing it for fun for now... With the economy, I may need to clean up my act a bit and start doing some self promotion later so I wanted to call dibs...
