Renee Valdes

Renee is an accomplished writer, digital and social media strategist. She is passionate about writing, photography and video and uses these skills in her everyday work. She’s an avid content creator helping brands connect with their customers and readers, including The Home Depot, Georgia State University, AXA-Equitable, Patch/AOL and others.

Prior to jumping into the digital landscape, Renee was a business reporter in traditional media. As business writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for seven years, Renee covered retail business and authored the Retailing column. She wrote many scoops about top shelf Fortune 500s.

Before living in the Peach State, Renee spent three years in Raleigh, N.C., where she worked as a business reporter for the News & Observer and the Triangle Business Journal, where she covered retail, real estate, banking and small business.

Prior to that, Renee lived inside the Beltway in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a reporter for the Washington Business Journal, a producer for TF1-French Television in the Washington bureau, and reporter for States News Service. She got her start penning wedding announcements for The Washington Post.

An American University graduate, Renee has a master's degree in Journalism and Public Affairs. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Business Marketing from Marymount University.

Though now her French speaking is rough, she is fluent in Spanish.

When not working, Renee enjoys camping, biking, hiking and traveling the world with her family, one country at a time.
