I've been an American expat living in Germany and the UK for the last five years. Wanderlust with a purpose has always been important to me as I continue to explore and adopt various parts of the world as home. Whether it be as a research consultant in London, microbiologist in Taipei, volunteer soccer coach in New Delhi or epidemiologist in Munich, I prefer to get to know a place from the inside out.
While my interests and experiences range, everything comes down to being a part of where science meets policy. From the rise in chronic diseases and the obesity epidemic worldwide with their resulting public health concerns to climate change to bioterrorism, many of today's key issues have a very real connection to science and I believe that public policies going forward need to be increasingly scientifically-informed.
I'm currently bringing my passion for science, policy and internationalism together while pursuing a PhD in Georgetown University's Department of Government.
