40 Represented
DC Metro Area, United States
40 Represented will discuss, focus and revolve its content around the subject of what life is really like for women in their 40’s. Through personal stories and candid discussion we will provide an alternative view of women in their 40’s to the one offered by mainstream media. Individual writers will take us through their experiences of approaching 40, turning 40 or being in their 40’s. They will speak about their triumphs, dreams, struggles, passions, strengths, joys, misconceptions, pressures, stereotypes, grief, progress and aspirations. All submissions are posted unedited and in raw form.
This project hopes to bring together a collective voice of at least 100 individual stories.
In order to be a truly collective voice 40 Represented is actively seeking written submissions from women of all backgrounds and life experiences. This includes but is not limited to diversity of race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, origin, religion, creed, ability, political affiliation, socioeconomics, education, affiliation, marital status and social standing. Please see http://40represented.com/want-to-write/ for more information.
Elizabeth Dubuque is the founder and manager of 40 Represented. She dedicates this blog to her two nieces, Sophia and Ella, in hopes that when they reach her age, they will be most appreciated for who they are rather than what they look like.
