D. Marie Fitzgerald

Hello! My name is Donna Fitzgerald aka D. Marie Fitzgerald. I recently retired from teaching in 2010. I taught Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, creative writing, and communications at the high school level. I also published the school's arts and literary magazine, as well as hosting open mic nights for the students.

Retirement offers one the chance to accomplish all those things that were "put on the back burner." One of those for me was to publish a collection of my poetry and prose. The result is Reruns, which was published in 2013 and is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.com.

Why Reruns? The back cover of the book explains the title choice. "Just as one associates a rerun with a television episode for our viewing pleasure, D. Marie Fitzgerald has selected episodes drawn from her life, transforming and adapting those episodes into short story, memoir, and poetry." My life has been rich with adventure and has provided me with an abundance of material. I think we could really say that about everyone's life.

I am currently working on a new collection which will be predominately prose. I have received many favorable comments so far for Reruns, even from people who don't necessarily like poetry. Check it out. That's Reruns by D. Marie Fitzgerald. And feel free to write a review on Amazon. Also check out my blog page at dmariefitzgerald.com
