Support a Residential HVAC Red Seal Designation

Residential HVAC has evolved significantly over the last decade.

Today's residential technicians are expected to install, service, commission, and troubleshoot increasingly complex systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation equipment, indoor air quality systems, smart controls, and energy-efficient technologies.

Residential HVAC technicians deserve a nationally recognized certification pathway that reflects the complexity, responsibility, and professionalism of the work they perform every day.

Despite this, there is currently no nationally recognized Red Seal designation dedicated specifically to Residential HVAC.

A Residential HVAC Red Seal designation would help establish a consistent national standard for training, certification, and competency within the residential sector.

Residential and commercial HVAC would remain separate career streams with distinct training requirements, work environments, and areas of expertise.

The goal is simply to strengthen training and certification standards where they best fit the residential sector.
