Resmi R Nair

Resmi R Nair (born 5 June 1988) is an Indian model, actress, and social activist from Kerala. She is best known as a co-founder of the 2014 Kiss of Love protest against moral policing in Kerala, and for her second marriage to Rheo Xen on 1 April 2026.

Early life and education

Resmi was born in 1988 in Pathanapuram, Kollam district, Kerala, to Ramachandran Nair and Radhamani Amma. She completed her schooling at Mount Tabor Girls School and St. Stephens Higher Secondary School, Pathanapuram, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from St. Michael College of Engineering & Technology (SMCET), with further study at V.K.K. Vijayan College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. [1]

After graduation she joined Tata Consultancy Services as an associate. In 2010 she left the company to pursue modelling. [2]

Career

Modelling

Resmi began working as a bikini and glamour model around 2010–2013. In 2013 she became the first Indian woman to win Playboy's Miss Social contest, which brought her early national attention (other accounts describe her as a finalist in 2014). [3]

Adult entertainment

She subsequently worked in boudoir and adult entertainment, including adult films and digital content platforms (OnlyFans, Patreon, and similar), a career path that drew sustained criticism from conservative commentators in India and made her a recurring figure in tabloid media. [4]

Acting

Her acting credits include the web series Resmi Nair (2024–2025), the short film Red (2024), and the music video Manamagal (2025). [5]

Activism

Kiss of Love (2014)

In 2014 Resmi co-founded the Kiss of Love protest movement, a non-violent campaign against moral policing in Kerala, with Rahul Pasupalan and other activists including Rehana Fathima. She is credited with proposing the movement's name and its format of public kissing demonstrations, the first of which was held at Kochi's Marine Drive on 2 November 2014. The protests spread across India and became a national controversy over free expression and body autonomy. [6]

Politics

Resmi and Pasupalan later co-founded the Netaji Party, a political outfit focused on gender justice, anti-caste politics, internet freedom, and youth empowerment. [7]

Legal controversy

In 2015, during a Kerala Crime Branch crackdown on an alleged online sex-trafficking network ("Operation Big Daddy", launched at Nedumbassery), Resmi and Rahul Pasupalan were detained and a chargesheet was filed. The couple contested the case, alleging it was linked to their activism. Accounts of the case's final disposition vary across sources. [8]

Personal life

First marriage: Rahul Pasupalan

Resmi met social activist and engineer Rahul Pasupalan (Rahul PS) through the Kiss of Love movement and married him, reportedly in the mid-2010s. The couple had two children, a son named Dwarka and a daughter named Nangeli, and were jointly involved in activism and politics. [9] The marriage ended before 2026; the circumstances of the separation have not been the subject of any public reporting.

Second marriage: Rheo Xen

On 1 April 2026, Resmi married Rheo Xen, her second husband. The marriage followed the end of her first marriage to Rahul Pasupalan, and the couple's two children remain part of her household. [10]

As of August 2026, the marriage has received limited mainstream media coverage, and most public biographical sources and social media profiles indexed to date still list only her first husband. Resmi has maintained her modelling, digital content, and acting work following the marriage. [10][11]
