Founded in 2017, Rethink Food is on a mission to reshape the food system for sustainability and equity. With a dedicated team, Rethink Food has delivered over 14 million meals to those in need. We take a multipronged approach to combating food insecurity. Rethink Food’s commissary kitchen in downtown Manhattan rescues over 500,000 pounds of surplus food yearly to create 10,000-plus nutritious meals weekly. Our restaurant meal initiative supports local businesses. Since 2020, Rethink Food has delivered over 14 million meals and over $50 million to MWOB restaurants. All meals are provided free of charge.
