Chris Griffith is a passionate public servant with a passion for Parks & Recreation, especially Family Aquatic Centers.

He grew up in Lindsay, OK; went to the University of Oklahoma to study Marketing, met a Girl, got married, had a baby (with that girl), and settled down.

Chris' Parks & Recreation career started by accident.

Chris started working seasonally for the Last Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts of America at Slippery Falls Scout Ranch in 2004. He served as a Lifeguard, Assistant Aquatics Director, and Health Lodge Director; Before leaving in 2007. He returned to teach CPR-First Aid-AED classes weekly during the summers of 2008-2012.

In 2007 Chris left the BSA taking a year round position serving as a head lifeguard for the Oklahoma City Community College Aquatic Center. While there he found a love for the Parks & Rec industry and decided it was what he wanted to dedicate his life to.

In August of 2008, Chris accepted an offer from the City of Pauls Valley, OK to serve as their Aquatic Director. Moving back to his home county from the OKC Metro. During his 4 years with Pauls Valley he oversaw a $250,000 renovation of the aging Bosa Aquatic Center.

In February of 2012, while still at Pauls Valley, Chris was honored by Aquatics International Magazine by being named one of the top 25 aquatic professionals in the world.

Chris was a correspondent for Aquatics International Magazine as well as the online content editor for it's lifeguarding network, LifeguardLink, from 2012-2014.

Chris left the City of Pauls Valley in August of 2012 to pursue a stint in private sector aquatic consulting. He accepted a position consulting Schumacher Investments South, Inc. helping to open their first waterpark; The Water-Zoo Indoor Water Park in Clinton, OK.

Chris left the Water-Zoo Indoor Water Park in March of 2013 after successfully launching the park and locating a permanent management team for the facility.

Chris also consulted 4-Star Trailers with chemical treatment and EPA standards management saving them costly downtime and improving their environmental responsibility.

Chris is currently the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Purcell, OK; is completing a major splash pad project, and working on developing a Parks Master Plan for the City. He's also working on a plan to quickly replace the City's closed swimming pools.
