Belly dancing significantly aids muscle toning with its refined movements of internal muscle anatomy. Movements were historically created to work those core feminine muscles such as, the Gluts (bottom), Oblique’s (stomach) and Quads (thighs). It is a great workout without even feeling like you’re exercising, once you get lost in the music and art form!

Due to the improvement in body image and muscular tone, confidence levels are naturally increased. Belly Dance, like most other dance forms, allows your body to secrete endorphins and dopamine in your body - the ‘feel good’ hormones. You are always guaranteed to leave a class feeling great about your productivity and yourself. Furthermore, as you become familiar with movements, you will unsurprisingly want to show movements these off!

Belly Dance incorporates many similar movements and postures of Yoga and Pilates that both work the spine, knees and pelvic areas of the body. Your back, knees and pelvis are all conditioned to be in the correct stance for healthy execution of movements. Belly Dance works with the body instead of against it, by providing the correct alignment and poise for mobility and to relive stress or tension within the body. You will gain flexibility and work to avoid any risk of injury so that you can move to your full potential.
