Virtual receptionist is used in business or office that refers to an individual who can answer the phone and performs all the duties of an on-site receptionist. But they are not located actually at the office or business location. Answering service agents, customer service representatives and also appointment schedulers can all be classified as virtual receptionist if they are working at the remote location or at the off-site. In most of the cases, they will be working from home office. An organization or a company who employs virtual workers helps to improve the customer service by covering all time zones and also be extending the hours of availability. In this role, the virtual receptionist job duties include taking all the incoming calls. More often, these are the calls regarding product ordering or any questions regarding the product ordering. But retail is not only the field that employs virtual employees. For example, medical companies sometimes will employ virtual workers to answer all the incoming calls after hours & schedules temporary workers to fill in the gaps when they are shirt staffed. The virtual employees will work for a company or an organization as an independent contractor rather than the permanent employee.
