Moved to Perth 1st Dec 2009 and lovin the blue skies and sunshine. Architectural designer specialising in quality inexpensive sustainable homes for my intelligent clients maximising the views and minimising their heating and cooling bills by harnessing the suns energy in passive solar design.
I have aligned myself to an excellent builder so we can make the whole package work providing economies of scale and quality of workmanship. Theo Sartzidis of Buildsmart.asia I thought was an excellent man who regarded his clients as his friends and went the extra mile. But I was wrong. Instead he tried to charge more than he should have and to 4 times as long as he should have to complete sub-standard work for valued clients of mine that have lost trust in me also now because of his antics.
I have been able since then to find excellent builders after having another bad experience with Superior Homes where they built even worse with walls out of plumb and floors 60mm out of level.
Now the builders I have know what they are doing and have completed 4 jobs for me now and every job is to a very high standard and the owners are very pleased to the extent they ask them to come back and do work for them.
Love the city and even the beaches yet, so many to choose from.
The challenge is to design homes for the local climate to handle the heat of the summer months while keeping the home warm on those cold winter nights, mind you there is still nothing better than a nice fire. Solar Panels can be a considerable cost now that the government subsidies have been reduced so to minimise heating costs with proper design is always going to be a sensible alternative. I am fun loving, I enjoy peoples company, love business enterprise and movies, but not horror. I am facing a challenge now also of establishing a garden and growing my own vegetables but the bugs are prolific here.
