Hey guys, my name is Reyana. I’m an aspiring nursing student currently living in Hercules, California. I currently attend Merritt Community College and am finishing up the last of my prerequisites for their nursing program. I want to be a nurse because I've found that I have a passion for helping and "fixing" people. I love to be the person to provide someone with a great experience. I may not be 100% sure about my career path, but in this moment, my goal is to be an amazing pediatric nurse. I want to be the nurse that helps carry a medical practice or department. I want to be such a great nurse that my patients secretly don't want to leave pediatrics because I've had such an impact on them and their families. I want to be the nurse that makes kids remind their parents to make their annual checkup appointment instead of hoping that they forget! I just want my kiddies to walk out with smiles on their faces after coming to see me.

Outside of the occupational realm, one of the things that I love most is music! I am a fan of R&B, rap, gospel, and EDM music (which I’m currently stuck on at the moment haha. You can listen to some of my favorite songs and playlists in the link above). Music allows me to express what I can't. Music is able to stir up my emotions in various ways whether it be expressive, meditative, or therapeutic. If I could have background music coming through my bass enhanced headphones for literally everything, I definitely would! That's another thing-- I consider myself somewhat of a basshead. At raves, if I'm not tearing it up on the dance floor, my favorite place is right next to the speaker. Closing my eyes and letting the bass resonate and vibrate through my body is extremely therapeutic for me, especially if my anxiety is acting up or I'm upset-- it helps to calm me down.

I also LOVE traveling although I don’t do it often- especially to tropical places! I find peace being by the water. It's calming in addition to beautiful. Nothing can beat a hot sun, warm sand, and a crystal blue ocean. The Caribbean has been my favorite vacation! I have yet to see anything so beautiful!

My casual hobbies include dancing and gaming which I want to get back into. I want to get back into dancing simply because I feel like when I'm into it, I'm really good at it and gaming because it's the bond that my brother and I share, and I want to grow closer to him. Overall, my largest goal for myself right now is to learn me and love me unapologetically!
