Mark Reyes

Mark Reyes is currently a senior attending Rowe-Clark Math And Science Academy. He is 17 years old and from Chicago, Illinois. His goal is to become a cultural/biological anthropologist who will later use his knowledge to serve his country as a military anthropologist. He is currently working at Youth Service Project (YSP) focusing on urban planning through the creation of a community garden in the Humboldt Park area and has two years of experience in this urban planning field. He is captain of the baseball team and has been playing for over 12+ years. Another goal of his is to play baseball in college and he hopes that his passion for baseball will lead him to play Major league baseball while still achieving his goal of becoming an anthropologist. He is involved in many organizations in school such as: Student government/Senior council, National Honor Society (NHS), Baseball, and is also a nominee for the Posse Scholarship. He has received awards in highschool such as the deans list award ( having above a 3.0 G.P.A), the principals list award ( having above a 3.5 G.P.A) the scholar athlete award ( exceeding standards in balancing academics and extracurriculars), and is in the top quarter of his graduating class. He is a very astute, assiduous, and professional student and worker who accomplishes tasks and actions at above-expectational standards. He is outgoing, perceptive, and very well rounded. He is currently taking multiple college level classes as a graduating senior and hopes to gain more knowledge, understanding, and experience as he progresses toward achieving his goals.
