Reyhana Mammadova

'…I never really had a proper 'childhood' because of music… But I thank my dad for pushing me, because now I can earn today and support myself… '

Reyhana (Nickname 'Reyna') was introduced to playing piano at the age of four, ever since then her life was dedicated to music. The schools that she went to were music schools, and she never really had enough time for herself; to have a proper 'childhood.'

A few years later after she was first introduced to learning the piano, she had already started to play a new instrument; the violin. As much as she loved playing and practising the new instrument, she decided she would mainly focus on the instrument she initially started with, Piano.
Teenage years started to come closer, and Reyhana began to become more aware of who she really is.
'I am a girl, not just some machine that plays and practices the piano and the violin everyday, I AM A GIRL, I must try and enjoy it whilst I still can!'

She started to enjoy things like clothes, food, her hair, and other things teenage girls are concerned with. But like most teenage girls, they dream of staying as a teenager and enjoy too much, Reyhana's grades were starting to slowly drop;and decided that she would rely on her 'reserves,' until one point she got her very first 'C' in her piano exam.

Her dad became furious, and told her off about how irresponsible she was. After that, she fell in love with music even more, and she practised piano so much that the only thing her parents could say were 'Stop, that's enough.'

She started to teach at the age of 16, but she really wasn't as interested to teach, because she was very annoyed how hard it was for the children to quickly understand. But after a while she understood that it takes time and that the student and the teacher must work together. But she really wasn't get paid that much because there are already piano and violin teachers just as good as her in Russia, so she decided to move to Australia, not only for her sake but also to find talented, dedicated piano players and help them improve and perform at their fullest potential.
