I am an academic adviser, administrative dean, a poet, an avid "experimental" gardener (let's see if it grows), and most recently a jewelry maker.
My first book, Daughter of the Hangnail (New Issues Press, 1997), received the 1998 Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America. My poems have appeared in a number of literary magazines and online journals, including Quarterly West, Boston Review of Books, Cerise Press, Web Conjunctions, American Letters and Commentary, The Spoon River Poetry Review, Notre Dame Review, Verse, Eclipse, The Water-Stone Review, and Open City. My second book, The Bovine Two-Step, was released by New Issues Press in 2002.
