“Music is the language of the heart— the voice, its medium.”
Hi, I'm Rhannica! I'm a soprano singer living in Manila, Philippines. I am an enthusiast of music, arts, and acting. I sing and perform various vocal genres of musical theater, opera, kundiman, art songs, and pop. I also teach voice to students (kids, teens, adults) in the genres mentioned above.
Allegedly, my parents heard me start humming songs before my first birthday. Then, I started singing along to many songs from the moment I began to talk.
Because of this, my mom thought, "What if I enroll you in a performing school?"
I have performed since I was 6 years old, singing in various competitions and events, both national and international. Coming from the Filipino-Chinese community, where music is treated as an extracurricular activity, music was meant to help with discipline and character; it was never meant to be THE career path. With my engineer parents and my architect sister, I was at least expected to be in that field.
So, graduating High School and then pursuing music was a huge surprise.
Nevertheless, I entered the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music at age 17. When you genuinely love music and the voice, absolutely nothing can stop you. Before stepping into the Conservatory, I was and still am primarily a theater and pop singer. However, despite this, I am currently taking up my undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Music in Performance, major in Voice. I did this to be more flexible with my voice, have a stable foundation, and learn classical singing.
Set to graduate in June 2025, I plan to continue spreading my voice in performing and teaching, proving that music can be a viable profession.
