I started writing in the summer of 1979. In 1983 my first bylined piece was published in the Grapevine Gazette of Roseburg Oregon. Since then my work has been published or broadcast over 270 times and has appeared in several collection and anthologies.
Overstory: Zero, Real Life in Timber Country, a collection of my literary nonfiction was published by Sasquatch Books of Seattle WA in 1995. The book won the 1996 Andres Berger Award in nonfiction from Northwest Writers, Inc. a professional writers association and was a finalist for the 1996 Oregon Book Award in nonfiction.
