Rachel Huffman

Rachel Elizabeth Huffman was born in early May of 1989, in city near the border of Northern Illinois. She is the daughter of Rick Huffman and Cathy Huffman and the sister of Kyle Huffman, who is ten years her senior.

Rachel has led an interesting life thus far, though at only 23 it is far from the complete story. Some highlights include:

• Becoming one of the charter members of the very first Mayor's Youth Advisory Council her city had ever had.
• Being a part of a very successful Students in Free Enterprise team; one that has won numerous regional competitions as well as placements in national competitions.
• Been the Vice President of Student Development at her community college.
• Worked at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, FL shortly after her high school graduation.

While these accomplishments may seem minor, they were milestones in Rachel's life and have helped her get to where she is in the present day.
Rachel's plans are to attend a well respected university in Illinois and attain her degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, with an emphasis in Child Development. This path will help her to attain her certificate as a Child Life Specialist, an occupation which she believes will best suit her talents and passions, and which will touch the lives of many children suffering from life threatening illnesses and chronic illnesses.
