Riaan Cornelius

I’m passionate about software development and I’m always looking for better ways to do things.

I finished my B.SC degree in Computer Science in 2002 and started working for MIS Consulting supporting and developing the Coretalk application. I spent 10 years working my way up through the company (starting as a technician and working my way up to development, team lead, project manager and finally miracle worker), before automating enough things to make my job boring.

This is when I decided to move to Entelect as a senior software engineer, where I get to work with some of the best developers in the industry while continually learning and improving - What more could any great software engineer want?

I'm currently placed at Discovery where I am working on mobile apps for Vitality.

I am also very intrigued by the abilities of the human mind and how small seemingly inconsequential things can have a big impact. At the moment I am learning to cook the Tim Ferriss way, playing around with spaced repetition to increase retention of new things I’m learning and experimenting with polyphasic sleep.
