Born in a log cabin my daddy built in Wisconsin woods in depth of the Depression in 1932. Grew up East Side St Paul, Harding HS and, after short stint at UofM, attended Gustavus Adolphus, St. Peter, MN. After graduating, moved to Cincinnati, Cleveland and then Chicago with Better Homes & Gardens Book Div. before heading for California to start Travel West for BH&G Magazine. Have been involved in magazine publishing and travel industry since 1970 and recently started FIBRENEW WEST with son, Rick, in the San Fernando & Conejo Valleys. We repair, refurbish, re-dye leather, vinyl, plastic, fabric furniture, automobile, boats, aircraft and anything with those component parts. With 5 children, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, Rosemary, my wife of 60 years, and I are kept busy with family activities. This leaves me with a few hours in between for jazz/blues sessions & an occasional Pacific Ocean fishing trip. Quite a few weekends will find Rosemary & I running 5K events and I do an occasional Marathon. Life is good!
