Since childhood I felt a sense of limitlessness in the potential of a human life.
Rainer Maria Rilke puts it perfectly, poetically by writing "Take your practiced powers and stretch them out until they span the chasm between twocontradictions...For the godwants to know himself in you."
With this sense within me I have through my life questioned all my limits and always tried to stretch them further.
The duality of happiness and sorrow in this is that one can always improve, yet one will never get there.
So instead of happiness the choice of gratitude has to be made to gracefully work in this contradiction.
